a 427 cobra sold for 1 million dollars? a vintage race car is worth more than a well cared for vintage car? old CS would be still alive and building Cobras and Mustangs? a black Trans-Am with a golden chicken sticker on the hood would be a "collector car"? (actually I knew it would be, I just never had the nerve to buy one and hide it)

The article here, "A Humourous Road Test," was written in 1978. At that time, a 427 Cobra was valued at $25,000. Makes you wanna cry! Ron's story about the three 427 Cobras for $15,000 is a real killer! ---------- "There is nothing nice about a Cobra. It's stripped down to the essentials, a big engine, a small car, and four wide tires to keep the whole business on the pavement. It's loud, smells like gasoline, and shakes, shudders, and bucks. It makes your arms tired and your feet hot. You nearly crash about once every 10 minutes. It's so damn wonderful that you can't believe it."

G.M. Stock today is $4.63. The Net Worth of the Corporation is 2.6 billion dollars. To put that into perspective, there are over 100 individuals in the States with a Net Worth exceeding that. G.M. is the 20th largest Car Maker in the world. G.M. will fail to exist, sooner than later. R.I.P. ---------- Rehab is for quitters.

The politicians we have today would be able to walk the streets or show up in public and not be shot. In a way, am actually happy that my health is failing so fast and I won't be around to see the FINAL SOLUTION to the upcoming problems which will make todays look minor. Ron ---------- Ron Widener

To buy a new truck could cost you $70 K. Peanut butter would be banned from schools. The word Christmas would be offensive and banned in some areas. Nomad could type. Smoking cigarettes would be socially unacceptable. THat LP's would be retro. Owning a gun would be socially unacceptable. I would like battery operated drills. Gas $7.00 a gallon. You would need certification to operate an elevator, forklift, hand tools or any other piece of machinery. I would be taking pictures with a phone, not to mention digital pictures. THat I would own a Cobra. ---------- Ross.

That purple Mopar was called "Plum Crazy" I walked away from one at a auction this past August I don't want to know what it went for because I feel it was low....should have. Also we Canadians prefer to be called Loonies or Geese...where we fly south and crap all over We enjoy our USA visits where our dollar is ...(I will leave that sore subject alone for the moment) And wasn't it the other way around, Didn't Chrysler buy Mercedes? ---------- The topic of procrastination will be dealt with tomorrow

Actually no, it was Daimler that bought Chrysler and for a time they called it Daimler Chrysler. I never did understand why they bought it as the company was broke and going under then. Now GM is talking about a possible merger with another company. The United States no longer is a major power in the world and we don't even have a version of Nomad to help. Just as a disclaimer, my mother lives in London, ON and she is quacking at me all the time..LOL As for the GM Chrysler merger, I thought that was just to get double the bail-out money from the white house. In 1974 who would have thought that the DOW would go over 10,000 and back down again..... stealth technology? Michel Schumacher could win 7 world championships??
