CSX 2122

On April 3, 1963, a brand new Princess blue Cobra was invoiced to Shelby American. Just a few months later it was shipped along with several other Cobras via a FoMoCo transporter to Dearborn, MI for use as a "Ford District Car". CSX2122 returned to Shelby American in mid 1964 with 4,508 miles on the odometer. Then invoiced to Hi-Performance Motors (Los Angeles, CA) and sold to Robert Brandes. According to the Shelby American World Registry, at the age of ten (1973) the car was still "perfect original condition" with only 26,000miles. In 1973 the car was purchased by W.H.Griffin of Kansas and sold in 1974 to J.D. Leatherman of Pennsylvania. The next owner was Bill Milburn of Appleton, WI. Then sold to Jim Cowles of Green Bay, WI in 1978. During Jims years of ownership and care CSX2122 would receive some freshening, including a new paint job. As of 1996 it was acquired by David Furay of Colorado. With approximately 32,000miles, it would be sold to David's brother Dan Furay of Illinois. Dan was not one to let a car sit and not be used. During his ownership the car would be used regularly on Sunny days. Whether it was on the street or for a lapping day, he enjoyed getting the cobra out to stretch its legs. Today this beautiful Cobra is showing only 39,000miles and is in great mechanical and cosmetic condition. It is well sorted and ready for street use or lapping days at the track
