CSX 3304

The SAAC Registry describes this 1966 427 Cobra as having been built with a 427 equipped with a single 4-barrel carburetor and invoiced to Hi-Performance Motors in El Segundo, CA. The car underwent a full mechanical rebuild in 1979, during which its engine received all new internals. The rest of the car was updated as well, with a new top, carpet, leather upholstery, sunvisors, wind wings, side exhaust system, bumpers, radiator and two extra Halibrand knock-off wheels.
It was repainted Rangoon Red before being sold to Starr Cooke, who raced it in the late eighties. Cooke fitted the car with its chrome roll bar, wider Halibrands and an SC oil cooler and scoop, which had been deleted from AC production for the third run of coil-spring-equipped cars. Cooke then sold 3304 to Cobra collector and racer Rich Mason of Nevada in 1991.
CSX3304 appeared at SAAC 17 in Portland, Oregon in July 1992 fitted with a new fuel cap, a relocated shifter and several updated gauges. It also wore new white stripes and the Nevada license plate “COBRA.”
The car has now been returned to its original Guards Blue with added Le Mans stripes
