CSX 3000 Series
There were 348 of the 3000 series built. Some of these came with 427 SO motors. These were conservatively rated at 425 hp for the Street Model and 485 hp for the SC Model. Some came with the milder 428, 355 hp or 390 hp FE. Just over a hundred of the original were equipped with the 428. Not 100% sure of this, but CSX No's 3201 - 3301, plus 3305 and 3306 are reported to be the Cobras that came with the 428 FE. Origianally Carroll built 50 comp cars. When he had difficulty selling them all, he converted 31 of the 50 to SC specs for the street. CSX 3053 is reported to be the last original S/C built. Because of the low numbers and high desireability of the SC model, many owners of 427 Street Cobras changed theirs to SC specs, while others haved combined features from both. Only by consulting the SAAC Registry would you be able to determine which SC's are originally SC models. Production numbers for the Roadster (Street model) is 260.
Here is a breakdown by the numbers of the 3000 series.

427 Cobra SC & Full Comp Model
The SC (Semi Competition) Model of the 427 Cobras, came with a roll bar, side exhausts, hood scoop, and engine oil cooler. The battery was located behind the passenger's seat. The 427 SO was equipped with an aluminum med rise intake with a single 750 cfm Holley carb and turkey pan. Some SC models came equipped with the 427SO "lightweight" engine, which in addition to the aluminum intake and water pump, came with aluminum heads. It had a compression ratio of 12.4 to 1. The quoted hp for the SC model was 485. The standard final drive ratio was 3.77, with 3.09, 3.31, 3.54 and 4.09 optional. The full comp model came with aluminum heads and an optional dry sump oil system. Horsepower ratings reported to be in the 600 range. My research tells me there were 21 full comp Cobras made.
